Full refund will be given if you withdraw prior to two weeks of the start date
All classes are mandatory by the state of Iowa regulations. Any more than two absences in the classroom setting the student will be dropped from the driver education program with no refund. Any misses will need to be made up in the following session at the location you are taking the course.
For the online classes all classroom time is required as well as the driving. Your child will have 45 days to complete it during the school year or 30 days to complete it during the summer or 14 days to complete it during winter break or spring break. If your child doesn’t complete the online course within the time allotted, you will be required to pay the full tuition fee again to finish; so, this is very important they finish before the time frame is up.
If your child does not show up to a drive time that is scheduled, you will be assessed a $40.00 per occurrence fee. We limit only ONE rescheduled drive time for excused absences such as illness, funeral or family emergencies. Vacations, sport conflicts, work, etc. are not excused absences. If more than ONE drive is missed, they will be removed from our program with no refund. This rescheduling fee of $40 will be required to be paid to our office over the phone 515-279-1112 by a debit or credit card before their next scheduled drive otherwise your child will be removed from the program with no refund. The missed drive time will be made up at the instructor’s availability.
In the case of a returned check there will be a $40.00 fee assessed by Street Smarts. Balance will need to be paid by cash or credit card.
For the winter and spring break classes, there will be a cancellation fee of $100.00 if you cancel after you’ve scheduled drive times. For these special classes we schedule drive times anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks in advance with the parent and/or guardian.
The following fees will be applied if any changes are made within two weeks of the course start date:
A cancellation fee of $50 will be withheld if you choose to cancel out of a course within two weeks of the start date.
A transfer fee of $50 will be withheld if you choose to transfer your child to another class or location within two weeks of the original start date.
For winter and spring break classes, the following fees will be applied if any changes are made within two weeks of the course start date: $100 transfer fee or $100 cancellation fee.
